THE JOURNAL OF LIFE SCIENCES

The Journal of Life Sciences was a full-color bimonthly magazine and website published in San Francisco. Owned by Burrill & Company and the California Healthcare Institute, TJOLS reported on how developments in the life sciences affected society, business, and policy.

TJOLS was launched to cover topics the founders felt were often overlooked by peer-reviewed science journals and mainstream business publications. Printed in a digest format, TJOLS was designed to stand apart from other science magazines on the rack with its edgy illustrated covers and its reliance on photojournalism and flat graphic design to help tell stories.
